W. Christopher Stewart, Ph.D currently serves the Templeton Religion Trust as a Special Advisor. Before joining the Templeton philanthropies in 2013, he was for twenty years a Professor of Philosophy at Houghton College in New York. Until he retired from his position as Chief Grants Officer at TRT at the end of June 2025, Chris was responsible for leading and managing the grantmaking platform across the full range of the Trust’s programs.
