About us

The International Conference on Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy (ICCCRL) is Indonesia’s foremost international forum dedicated to cross-cultural religious literacy. Initiated by the Leimena Institute, it is hosted in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and supported by leading international institutions.

Background

ICCCRL brings together participants from different faiths and countries for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. The conference is attended by national and international experts, organizational leaders, partners and alumni of the Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy (CCRL) Program, and other distinguished guests. Through plenary and breakout sessions, participants explore how diverse societies can cultivate mutual trust and work together in both national and global contexts.

ICCCRL was first held online in September 2022 as the International Virtual Conference on Religious Freedom, Rule of Law, and Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy, hosted by the Leimena Institute and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights during the COVID-19 pandemic.
