Profile

AMB. Dian Triansyah Djani serves as Special Senior Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Priority Issues and also serves as Co-Sherpa of the G20 Indonesia. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Bank Mandiri Europe Limited (BMEL) and Advisor to ALAMI Group, a Fintech start-up. He was Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the UN and other International Organizations in New York (2016-2021). Prior to this assignment, Ambassador Djani served as Director General for America and Europe (2012-2016), Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the UN, WTO and other International Organizations in Geneva (2009-2012) and Director General of ASEAN, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2009). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has also held various positions, including: Head of the International Monetary Section; Head of APEC Section; Deputy Director of D8; Director of Multilateral Trade and Industry; Director of Intra Regional Cooperation; Director of ASEAN Economic Affairs; Director General of ASEAN Cooperation; and Director General for America and Europe who oversees 88 countries in Europe and the Americas.

As Co-Sherpa of the G20 Indonesia, he coordinated the sherpa line as well as organized various G20 meetings including the G20 Indonesia Presidency Summit in 2022. He chaired the G20 Sherpa Meeting and successfully led/negotiated the Bali G20 Leaders’ Declaration during difficult times due to the pandemic, global economic downturn , and the invasion of Ukraine.
