H.E. Prof. Dr. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, S.H., M.Hum. is the Vice Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia and a Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University. He began his academic career as a lecturer at UGM in 1999 and was appointed professor in 2010. He is recognized for his significant contributions to drafting national legal policies and reforming Indonesia’s criminal justice system.
