H.E. Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar currently serves as the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta. Previously, he served as Vice Minister of Religious Affairs (2011–2014) and Director General of Islamic Community Guidance. He founded an interfaith organization promoting interreligious dialogue and holds master’s and doctoral degrees in Islamic Studies from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
